I may have stopped breathing for a few seconds. 30 to be exact. Here’s a breakdown of the Avengers: Endgame Big Game Spot.
Avengers: Endgame Big Game Spot Breakdown
Trailers are always so intriguing and, we know, deceptive.
In one second my heart was torn out. Most of these initial shots aren’t even from Avengers: Endgame but other movies like Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man and the Wasp, etc. Hope Van Dyne/Wasp, Nick Fury, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, Falcon, Scarlett Witch, the Guardians of the Galaxy, T-Challa/Black Panther, Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Vision—in reverse order of their dusting. Please note: no Shuri or Scott.
But the black and white with the blood red highlights they’ve popped still invoke a feeling of loss because all of them were dusted, lost in the SNAP in Avengers: Infinity War, save Rocket. That sequence ends with the dusted 10-year Marvel Studios Logo. That red is also the color of the Reality Stone. Maybe they aren’t actualy dead, a theory we know has been discussed.
A glance of the Manhattan Skyline is looking extremely ominous. Liberty Island and NY Harbor are cluttered with abandoned ships and vessels. We pass over Citifield; it looks just like the harbor. Like a graveyard.
In the next scene, a Cap voice-over starts.
“Some people…”
In a room that looks to house an AA-style meeting in the background with 4 people, there’s a poster that reads “WHERE DO WE GO, NOW THAT THEY’RE GONE?” Looks like it could be Cap, Natasha, Banner, and Rhodey in that meeting.
“…move on…” spoken by Thanos
You see Cap looking a little angry.
“…but not us.”
That is not the same voice. Maybe Tony and Cap together? I’m not certain.
Tony and Nebula are on the ship building/repairing, and it looks like maybe Nebula is using parts of herself to repair it. Side note, I kind of love the steampunk look Tony has going on.
We cut to Cap, Natasha, Banner, and Rhodey walking across the field outside of Avengers HQ looking up at the sky—something or someone is incoming—and then to Rocket coming through a wooden door (not on Earth), and Natasha target shooting, then Rhodey and Scott Lang suiting up with concerned looks on their faces. Also, the fact that Scott with the group means that he has, in fact, found a way out of the Quantum Realm. So what is that footage in that last trailer all about??
The next shot of Thor looking forlorn I swear looks like a clip from a previous film, but maybe that’s just Thor’s forlorn look. The next shot is Thor looking out into the mountains (same planet where Rocket is?) with Stormbreaker in is hand. Still searching for Korg and Valkyrie, I presume.
Oh, hey, Hawkeye. Or are you Ronin yet?
Cap shielding up? He looks like his hands are shaking…and dirty. This battle means something more to him than just a regular battle I think.
The silhouette shot at Avengers HQ reminds me of a GoG shot, but as a new team, and I don’t think I like it. Too many feels.
WOW.
