In honor of National Waffle Day, here’s a super simple and fun reinvention of traditional canned cinnamon rolls—as waffles! And seriously, it’s so simple, you’re going to think, “Why have I never done that?” My girls ask for this for a “special” breakfast treat.
Easy Cinnamon Roll Waffles
What you need:
- Cooking spray or butter
- 1 can of 8 cinnamon rolls with icing
- Waffle iron
What you do:
Plug in the waffle iron and pre-heat it until your light turns on (or off depending on how your model works).
Open the can of cinnamon rolls; set the icing to the side.
Spray the waffle iron with cooking spray or grease with a little butter. Place two cinnamon rolls on opposite “corners” of the waffle iron (yes, it’s round, so there aren’t actually corners, but you get my drift).
Close the lid and cook until the waffle iron beeps that it is done, usually just a couple of minutes (follow your iron’s directions).
Top with the icing, or whipped cream or other fun toppings if the mood strikes you.
