This week, “Hawkeye” delivered as Kate and Clint continue their investigation into Sloan LTD, Jack, and the Tracksuits while giving us a whole new batch of comic nods, Easter eggs, and references to other MCU properties. Here are all Hawkeye Episode 4 Easter eggs we found.
Hawkeye Episode 4 Easter Eggs – “Partners, Am I Right?”
*SPOILER WARNING* IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED HAWKEYE ON DISNEY+, THIS IS YOUR SPOILER ALERT
Archer
There is a Marvel comic and also a TV series of the same name, but neither are about Hawkeye/Clint Barton.
“She’s not a superhero.”
Eleanor basically threatens Clint and says that she can’t lose Kate and that she’s not a superhero, reminding him that even Natasha Romanoff could be killed.
Sloan LTD
Clint asks Laura to get info on the company. She finds that Sloan LTD is the Tracksuit Mafia’s shell company and the Jack Duquesne is the CEO. Switching to Russian, Laura asks Clint if anything else is missing. He said the Rolex, which he had assumed was destroyed years ago the but Laura isn’t so sure.
Christmas Movie Marathon and Ugly Christmas Sweaters
Clint gets his Christmas movie marathon, just not with his kids. Kate brings movies to her aunt’s apartment. They watch The Santa Clause, Elf, The Polar Express, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. They are also wearing Ugly Christmas Sweaters, which was on the Barton Family Christmas list.
Thanos was Right
Clint is drinking from a “Thanos was Right” mug.
A Chance at Love
Kate is seen writing on a poster for A Chance at Love. This is another nod to Moira Brandon, as it’s another film she starred in and another clue that she is likely Kate’s aunt.
Boomerang Arrow
Kate and Clint discuss that there aren’t many trick arrows remaining. Kate asks if he has ever heard of a Boomerang arrow, and he replies with, “Why would I ever want to use a boomerang arrow?”
In the comics, Clint loves his boomerang arrow. It is seen in Hawkeye #3 after the epic car chase.
Family and the Blip
A little tipsy and sentimental, Clint shares how he met Nat. Kate is also able to draw out of Clint that he lost his family in the Blip and that he was Ronin. We get a flashback of the Vormir scene in Avengers: Endgame when Nat dies.
Kazi
Clint has a talk with Kazi, asking Maya to step down, assuring her that Ronin is dead and to leave Kate alone. Kazi says their Boss won’t like the attention and Clint says he just doesn’t want more people to die.
LARPer Help
Kate goes to the LARPers to try to retrieve some of Clint’s trick arrows because they know some of the members (including Grills) are NYPD.
One of the members she gets help from is an NYPD officer named Wendy Conrad, whose wife calls her “Bombshell.” In the comics, Wendy is an enemy of Hawkeye’s and a mercenary named Bombshell, specializing in explosives. Wendy and the others agree to help Kate as long as she makes it worth their while.
Making it worthwhile includes getting material for the LARPers for their costumes and also making two more for she and Clint.
The Watch
The Vintage Rolex that was stolen at the auction in Episode 1 is located and pinging from an apartment at 3715 Godfrey Rd., and Clint and Kate go to retrieve it. Kate ends up in Maya’s apartment in combat. Clint meets an assailant on the rooftop as he helps Kate escape with a zipline arrow.
Yelena Belova
Yelena is the rooftop assailant. This is Yelena’s first appearance since Valentina Allegra de Fontaine blamed Natasha’s death on Clint during the Black Widow post-credits scene. Yelena is in her comic accurate suit. It appears Clint is now being hunted by a Black Widow Assasin.
Kate Falling
During the rooftop scene, Kate falls and Clint sees her fall a la Avengers: Endgame, thinking he lost her as he had Natasha. Fortunately, she was attached to a cable and didn’t fall to her death.
Episodes 1–4 are now streaming on Disney+.
