Last week at CES, smart home solutions were a prevalent theme. LG unveiled many new smart home solutions for making your life easier, both at home and on the go.
LG Signature
LG Signature is the newest collection of premium products from LG, representing the very best in quality and technological innovations.
LG Signature TWIN Wash™ with SideKick™ Pedestal Washer is possibly the coolest laundry solution I’ve seen in a long time, and the first of the LG Signature appliances to debut in 2016.
The LG Signature TWIN Wash has a 30” footprint and features 5.6 cu. ft. of capacity, so this washer washes more clothes in fewer loads with room to handle it all. As a mom of four kids in a family of six, you have no idea how much I love a huge washer (or, maybe you do). The main washer features a Sliding Detergent Box, which allows users to easily dispense detergent into their laundry loads, while the tilted, higher drum allows easy access to the interior while unloading laundry. One of the things I despise about my traditional front-load washer is that when you load the detergent, it dribbles down the front of the door. What a mess.
Good bye pedestal storage, hello extra washing machine. LG’s TWIN Wash with SideKick pedestal washer, an industry-first innovation for laundry, allows users to run two separate loads of laundry at the same time. The true innovation is the SideKick is that is serves as an additional washing machine in the footprint of a traditional laundry pedestal, rather than that pedestal being for storage, or worse, being empty. The SideKick is placed under a traditional LG front-load washer and is specifically designed to wash small, custom-care laundry loads, up to 4 lbs.
Its compact size is perfect for special care items, such a delicates or other items that have to be washed separately, or for a last minute washing situation, such as you forgot to wash a gymnastics leotard or softball uniform. The SideKick™ and the LG front load washer can operate simultaneously or independently, so the user can wash one load in hot and one load in cold water at the same time. Users can also start or stop a cycle or open the door on either washer without interrupting the other.
LG HOM-BOT Turbo+
Who doesn’t love a good robotic vacuum cleaner? If I can get a vacuum that will do the bulk of my vacuuming, I’m in heaven. So when LG unveiled its new upgraded lineup of its CordZero™ collection at CES, headlined by HOM-BOT Turbo+, just wow. HOM-BOT Turbo+ is the first robotic vacuum cleaner featuring augmented reality technology called Home-Joy. The interface allows the user to specify areas of the home that need more attention, such as a corners that collected extra pet hair or dust, by using the camera of your smartphone. You tap on the part of the room in the image that needs to be cleaned better and HOM-BOT Turbo+ goes to that exact location and begins cleaning. Heck, my kids and husband can’t even be trained that well.
HOM-BOT Turbo+ features Triple Eye™ camera sensors that record the surrounding area—including the ceiling—to track what’s already been vacuumed. The camera on the HOM-BOT Turbo+ enables other features of the vacuum, such as the Home-View and Home-Guard. Home-View transmits real-time live video feed to your smartphone to let you control the vacuum remotely and clean from anywhere, anytime. Home-Guard allows an added security feature by sending photos of the inside of your home when paired to your smartphone when the HOM-BOT Turbo+ senses movement.
HOM-BOT Turbo+ is also able to navigate obstacles inside your home such as stairs and furniture and comes with a 10-year warranty. It also comes with the CordZero Canister, the 2-in-1 CordZero handstick, as well as the CordZero Bedding Cleaner as part of the cordless collection. Together, the CordZero collection provides a premium cleaning experience that is free of tangled cords and smarter than ever before.

I love the idea of being able to run two loads of laundry at once. That would save a lot of extra trips up and down the basement steps!

Man, I feel like I’m going to need to take a class to use my appliances soon! That double washer looks like a lifesaver for a family household- but I think I prefer to vacuum the old fashioned way and get my butt off the couch! I think this could be neat for a timeshare or rental property though.
