Thanks to myCharge for sending us their latest Hub series for review. As always, all opinions are my own.
Whether you’re out chasing Pokemon around town or you’re at an all-day press junket, you have to leave home prepared. You need good sturdy walking shoes, clothing that is easy to move in, snacks, and most importantly a good portable backup battery. Serious Pokemon trainers cannot be stopping at Starbucks to charge their phone. That kind of lack of commitment is for amateurs.

There are tons of portable battery banks to choose from on the market today, but poor-quality power banks are not going to get the job done. There are a few things to consider when selecting a battery bank size, quality, weight, and convenience. You need a charger that can fit in the palm of your hand with your phone or in your pocket. Some chargers have been known to fry phone batteries with their cheap components and faulty wiring. And having a charger with a built-in adapter for your phone can be convenient if you forget your charging cable at home. My favorite chargers I discovered at CES last year: the myCharge Hub Series.
The myCharge Hub series is perfect because cables for iPhone and Android are built into the device, along with wall prongs for recharging the bank. The slim profiles also make these batteries easy to carry with you. It’ been my go-to backup battery for almost a year now.
The myCharge HubPlus 6000mAh Portable Charger is my new favorite portable charger for going in my purse. It charges both iPhone and Android devices (and basically nothing charges the Samsung, so that speaks miles). And it’s fast. And small.
The myHub HubMax 10050mAh portable charger is the packed with power. With an integrated Apple® Lightning™ cable, an integrated micro-USB cable, and a built-in USB port you can easily stay charged anywhere. Boasting a 30% reduction in size, the HubMax is more compact and portable than ever before.
These chargers are the perfect gift for any phone user on your holiday list.
