The Planet Batuu is canon, but it has yet to be shown on any Star Wars films; it appears in the book “Thrawn: Alliances.” The land is distinctly Star Wars and totally immersive. You Play a Part in the Adventure in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge
The stage is set for conflict. There is a struggle for power over Black Spire. The resistance has a camp in the forest and The First Order also has an encampment on the opposite end of the land. Galaxy’s Edge is meant for guests to have their own adventures. You get to be a character on this world. Using the Disney Play app you can set up your profile and your Datapad will communicate with the interactive elements all over Black Spire. You decide whether to be Resistance, First Order, or a scoundrel. Take jobs and help your side win control over the outpost.
Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is a Separate World
Another need to know Galaxy’s Edge fact is that this area is completely different and separate from the rest of the theme park. There are no theme park references and every detail is seen to draw a distinction between Batuu and the outside world. Merchandise is completely different and based on the internal logic of the story. Toys are toys kids on Batuu would play with. Clothes are outfits worn by the people of Batuu. What’s Most Popular in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge?
If there’s one need to know Galaxy’s Edge tip it’s that the most popular things to do in Galaxy’s Edge by far are Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Lightsaber Workshop. Reservations are highly recommended for both. The Cantina is powered by a hyperdrive engine and houses many creatures who play a part in the ingredients of some of the drinks. There is limited seating available and the cantina consists of mostly standing room at and near the bar. The drinks here are pre-mixed and the menu also includes beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options. Oga’s has a 45-minute and 2-item per patron limit.
All-Day Menus in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge
Oga’s Cantina also has a breakfast cocktail menu in addition to the lunch/dinner cocktail menu. Ronto Roasters and Docking Bay 7 serve breakfast, as well. Docking Bay 7 actually has three menus, one for each meal of the day. The food in Galaxy’s Edge is named for Star Wars creatures, and they are made to look a little strange, but they all have familiar flavors and don’t taste as strange as they might look.
