What’s New from Disney+ Day 2021
It’s Disney+ Day and there are some fun announcements from the House of Mouse streaming service. We knew we’d be seeing some exciting announcements and exclusive premieres from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, NatGeo, and more.
Disney+ premiered more than 25 pieces of new content and dozens of first looks, new trailers, and exclusive clips throughout the day.

Disney+ Content Premieres on Disney+ Day
This year’s biggest adventure has arrived: Disney’s Jungle Cruise is now available to stream on Disney+.
In the action-packed Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings, Shang-Chi must face the past he thought he left behind and confront his father, leader of the dangerous Ten Rings organization. Not only can you stream it on Disney+, but you can also watch it in the IMAX expanded aspect ratio.
IMAX Expanded Aspect Ratio Movies Available on Disney+
For the first time ever, fans will be able to stream many of their favorite Marvel titles in IMAX’s Expanded Aspect Ratio at home with IMAX Enhanced on Disney+.
The 13 titles available at launch include Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and The Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and Black Widow (content availability varies by region)
Disney+ Originals Premiering on Disney+ Day
Home Sweet Home Alone drops on Disney+ Day! Max Mercer is a mischievous and resourceful young boy who has been left behind while his family is in Japan for the holidays. So when a married couple attempting to retrieve a priceless heirloom set their sights on the Mercer family’s home, it is up to Max to protect it from the trespassers…and he will do whatever it takes to keep them out. Hilarious hijinks of epic proportions ensue, but despite the absolute chaos, Max comes to realize that there really is no place like home sweet home.
Jeff Goldblum is back with “The World According to Jeff Goldblum” (Season 2, Episodes 1-5)where he’ll discover the surprising secrets, passionate people, and mind-blowing science behind a whole new host of topics.
“The Marvel Studios’ 2021 Disney+ Day Special” explores the Disney+ series of the MCU—past, present, and future. Highlighting the action, emotion, drama, and humor from “WandaVision,” “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” “Loki,” and “What If…?”—the special also offers an exciting look at upcoming titles and new project announcements.
The Marvel Studios’ 2021 Disney+ Day Special launches exclusively on Disney+ November 12.
In the “Pixar 2021 Disney+ Day Special,” you can celebrate Disney+ Day with Pete Docter as he gives a personal tour of Pixar Animation Studios and introduces projects coming to Disney+, including a new Cars series, Pixar’s first long-form animated series, “Win or Lose,” and some behind-the-scenes documentaries on the making of the upcoming theatrical releases, “Turning Red” and “Lightyear.”
Olaf steps into the spotlight and goes from snowman to showman as he takes on the roles of producer, actor, costumer, and set builder for his unique “retelling” of five favorite Disney animated tales in “Olaf Presents,” a series of new animated shorts from Walt Disney Animation Studios.
The charismatic and versatile Olaf demonstrates his theatrical flair, taking on such iconic roles as a mermaid, a genie, a lion king (and most of the parts in between), as he entertains Arendelle with his delightful abbreviated versions of these beloved tales.

“Fancy Nancy” (Season 3) continues her adventures of friendship and fanciness and at long last visits her favorite city in the whole world—Paris! Season 3 is now streaming on Disney+.
“Frozen Fever” is now streaming on Disney+. It’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa is determined to give her the best party ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put everything at risk.
The digital short “Paperman” is now available on Disney+. A young man in an office sees the girl of his dreams in a skyscraper window across the street. But how can he get her attention?
“The Ballad of Nessie” is a whimsical and colorful tale about the friendly Loch Ness monster, Nessie, and her best friend MacQuack the rubber duck. “The Ballad of Nessie” is is now available on Disney+.

“Get a Horse!” is now available on Disney+. Classic hand-drawn animation and cutting-edge technology collide in this irresistible adventure, featuring Walt Disney himself as the voice of Mickey.
In “The Little Matchgirl,” a poor young girl finds visions of happiness in the fiery flames of the matches that she lights to keep warm, set to the music of Alexander Borodin’s “String Quartet No. 2 in D Major: Third Movement: Notturno (Andante).” Now streaming on Disney+.
“Tick Tock Tale” is an animated short about a quirky mantle clock that is the laughing stock of the shop. But when the clock foils a robbery, the unlikely hero proves that even imperfection can lead to something extraordinary. “Tick Tock Tale” is now streaming on Disney+.

Disney+ Content Coming in 2021
In 2 weeks, take aim with Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye.” The first two episodes start streaming November 24.
Hawkeye is set in post-blip New York City where Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye) has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. But when a threat from his past shows up, Hawkeye reluctantly teams up with 22-year-old skilled archer Kate Bishop to unravel a criminal conspiracy.
The action-packed series stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, and newcomer Alaqua Cox. Episodes are directed by executive producer Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert & Bertie; executive producer Jonathan Igla is head writer.
Watch the first clip from The Beatles: Get Back and experience Peter Jackson’s 3-part event beginning November 25. The docuseries takes you through the 2 weeks leading up to the Beatles’ last live performance together and the challenge to write 14 songs in that period.
Writer and producer Jeff Kinney shared the new poster for Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The animated adventure movie starts streaming on December 3, 2021.

Disney+ Content Coming in 2022
Simon Pegg is back as Buck in The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, an all-new movie, premiering January 28, 2022, on Disney+. View the teaser trailer that features Buck, Crash & Eddie, and a few new friends as they go on a prehistoric mission to save the Lost World from dinosaur domination.

They’re louder and prouder—and on their way! “The Proud Family Louder and Prouder,” an Original Series based on the Disney Channel series from the 2000s, starts streaming February 2022.
Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff announced their reimagining of the hit family comedy Cheaper By the Dozen, an Original Movie, which will stream March 2022.
The rules are simple: “Rodrick Rules.” Jeff Kinney announced that the second new animated adventure film from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise comes to Disney+ in 2022.

“Tiana” FIRST LOOK Concept Art: The new long-form musical series, directed and written by Stella Meghie, comes to Disney+ in 2023. The series follows the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia on a new adventure, but her New Orleans past isn’t far behind.
“The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” is a holiday special written and directed by Guardians of the Galaxy veteran James Gunn.
Marvel Studios’ “X-Men ’97,” an animated Original Series explores new stories in the iconic ‘90s timeline of the original series. Beau DeMayo is executive producer and head writer. Coming in 2023.
Get a first look at “Moon Knight,” a new globetrotting action-adventure series featuring a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt.
“Moon Knight” is directed by executive producer Mohamed Diab; Jeremy Slater is head writer. The series is coming to Disney+ in 2022.
See Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who specializes in superhuman-oriented legal cases. Marvel Studios’ “She-Hulk” will welcome a host of Marvel characters to the series, including the Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo, and the Abomination, played by Tim Roth.
The new comedy series coming to Disney+ in 2022 is directed by executive producer Kat Coiro with Anu Valia also directing. Executive producer Jessica Gao serves as head writer.
Disney + Content for Star (International) Coming in 2022
The following titles from 20th Century Studios will debut in 2022 on Disney+ in international markets under the Star brand, on Hulu in the U.S., and Star+ in Latin America.
Rosaline is a fresh comedic twist on Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet” in which the classic love story is told from the perspective of Juliet’s cousin Rosaline…who just happens to be Romeo’s ex-girlfriend. Starring Kaitlyn Dever and directed by Karen Maine, the movie premieres in 2022.
The Princess is an irreverent action movie set in a fairy tale world. Joey King stars as a young royal who is more comfortable with a sword than a tiara and must save her kingdom from ruthless mercenaries. Directed by Le-Van Kiet, the movie premieres in Summer 2022.
Prey is an all-new entry in the Predator franchise. Set in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, the action-thriller follows Naru, the skilled warrior who fiercely protects her tribe against a highly evolved alien predator. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg and produced by Jhane Myers. Prey will premiere in Summer 2022.
No Exit is a harrowing suspense-thriller follows Darby Thorne, played by Havana Rose Liu, a young woman who is stranded by a blizzard and forced to find shelter at a highway rest area with a group of strangers. The movie premieres in 2022.
And currently streaming on Star, “Dopesick.” “Dopesick” examines how one company triggered the worst drug epidemic in American history and takes viewers to the epicenter of America’s struggle with opioid addiction. Defying all the odds, heroes will emerge in an intense and thrilling ride to take down the craven corporate forces behinds this national crisis and their allies.

Marvel Studios’ “Echo,” an Original Series starring Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, who will be introduced in “Hawkeye,” coming soon.
Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Freshman Year,” an animated Original Series, follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots. Executive producer Jeff Trammel serves as head writer on this series coming soon to Disney+.
Marvel Studios’ “I Am Groot” is an animated Original Series of original shorts exploring Baby Groot’s glory days growing up, and getting into trouble, among the stars. Directed by executive producer Kirsten Lepore, the series is coming soon to Disney+.
The second season of the fan-favorite animated series Marvel Studios’ “What If…?” is coming soon.
After enlisting the Guardians of the Multiverse to stop Infinity Ultron, The Watcher returns in Season 2 of “What If…?” to meet new heroes and explore more strange new worlds in the MCU’s ever-expanding Multiverse. Directed by executive producer Bryan Andrews with executive producer AC Bradley serving as head writer.
Marvel Studios’ “Ironheart,” an Original Series starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man coming soon.
Marvel Studios’ “Agatha: House of Harkness,” an Original Series starring Kathryn Hahn as her character from “WandaVision,” coming soon. Jac Schaefer returns as executive producer and head writer.
“Marvel Zombies,” an animated Original Series from Marvel Studios, reimagines the Marvel Universe as a new generation of heroes battle against an ever-spreading zombie scourge. Directed by executive producer Bryan Andrews, “Marvel Zombies” will be spreading soon on Disney+.
Marvel Studios’ “Secret Invasion,” an Original Series series starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos—characters who first met in Captain Marvel. The crossover comic event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years will be streaming on Disney+ soon.
Your field guide to a world of fantasy. “The Spiderwick Chronicles,” a new live-action Original Series based on the best-selling books, is coming soon.
