Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse—the highly anticipated follow-on to Sony’s Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse—is now in theaters and you don’t want to miss it. Not only is it the best-animated movie of the year, but it’s the best Spider-Man movie yet.
Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse Review
Breathtaking animation, remarkable storytelling, and Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse is loaded with tons of Marvel easter eggs and cameos from the animated universe, as well as the live-action universe and video game! This movie is for every Spider-Man fan of any generation.
The first of a two-part series, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse is a well-told story of Miles Morales’ mission to change his own destiny. Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham have woven together a beautiful narrative, perfect for long-time Spider-man fans and casual fans alike.
Miles reconnects with Gwen Stacy and collects a crew of Spider-people along the journey. While Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld are the standout performances, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Daniel Kaluuya, and Oscar Isaac are all notably fantastic in their respective roles.
Verdict
Layered with award-winning animation and visuals, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse is certain to maintain a ranking in my top 5 films for the year. My spidey sense tells me you’ll want to take the whole family to see it.
