Valentine’s Day is the perfect time for easy treats. Whether you are celebrating Valentine’s Day with your significant other, making treats for your kids, or celebrating Galentine’s Day with your gal pals, these Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookie Bars are the perfect Valentine’s Day treat!
Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookie Bars
Sugar Cookie Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 4 3/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 containers of Wilton springtime pearlized sprinkles
- Wilton pink heart sprinkles
- 9″x13″ baking dish
- Parchment paper
Frosting Ingredients:
- 2 cups unsalted butter, softened
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 3–5 tbsp. heavy whipping cream
- Pink gel food coloring
- Small angled spatula
Sugar Cookie Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
- Line a 9″x13″ baking dish with parchment paper; set aside.
- Using a standing mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
- Fold in one container of pearlized sprinkles into the sugar cookie dough.
- Scoop dough into the prepared baking dish and lightly flatten with the back of a spatula or large spoon.
- Bake for 20–30 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
Frosting directions:
- Using a standing mixer, beat together the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream.
- Beat on medium speed until smooth and stiff peaks form.
- Beat in a few drops of pink food coloring until combined.
- Using an angled spatula, frost the top of the cookie bars, spreading frosting evenly.
- Top with the remaining sprinkles, covering as evenly as possible.
- Cut into bars and enjoy!
