Reading is a fantastic family activity, especially in the summer to help keep kids stay up on their current school reading levels. “Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World” by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein is a story about the Kidd family and their adventures in the latest in the “Treasure Hunters” series. My kids and I love James Patterson’s books. “Jacky Ha-Ha” is one of my girls’ favorite books. In this latest novel, the Kidd family heads to Russia and the Arctic to search for treasure.
After their adventures in China and Germany, the Kidd family is ready for some rest and relaxation. But when you’re an ace treasure hunting team, there’s always another adventure waiting around the corner! This time, the Kidds head to Russia where a set of priceless paintings by Leonardo da Vinci and Rembrandt has gone missing. Hot on the trail of the daring thieves, the Kidds race through the sinister streets of St. Petersburg and the wild Arctic tundra to track down the stolen treasure.
There was so much excitement around this book arriving, my girls had a mini argument over who was going to get to read the book first when it arrived. My 8-year-old daughter, who is part way through the book, loves the humor and mystery Patterson and Grabenstein bring to the table. Here’s My youngest’s review:
